SharePoint 2010 display list or library on another site


1.            Here is TeamSite with name” TeamSiteProjectA” with document library follows as. Click to Document Library >> Site Actions >> Edit in Sharepoint Designer (or Open site in SPD)
2.            Login to Site

3.            Waiting

4.            Click to List and Libraries >> click to Share Documents

5.            Click to “All Documents” View

6.            Here is XsLtListViewWebpart

7.            Click in site XsLtListViewWebpart then click on Webpart Tab >> Click to To File Ribbon

8.            Save the web part

9.            Click Yes

10.        Go to the Top level Site or another subsite

11.        Edit page | Insert Web Part

12.        Click to Browse… button

13.        Choose webpart file then upload

14.        Click Add WebPart Again

15.        Choose Webpart in category Imported Web Parts

16.        Here is library on another site
17.    Go to TeamSiteProjectA >> Upload document

18.    Go to your site (other site), you will see the document appear automatically

    unfortunately I receive an error when trying to add the exported webpart. it says that the list does not exist.
    Could you help me here? Thank you very much in advance!

      sorry for my late reply, unfortunately I am not able to post a screenshot, here you have google pic, it's the same error: http://fyano.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/list-does-not-exist.png

      I found out that this only works when you’re viewing a subsites information on a top level site.

      Maybe there is the issue - anyway thanks for your post & help!

  3. Hey,

    This works great with PDF and EXCEL documents. But i get an error "File not found" when trying to open POWERPOINT or WORD documents. And when trying to open DOCUMENT SET i get an error "An unexpected error has occurred".

    Any ideas how to fix this?

    It is different matter. Did you install office web app? Should search on google how to open word/pp using office web app.

    1. We have used office web app for a long time and in other cases it works great. So I believe it's not about that.

    I have the same problem Sabrina. I followed all the steps to export the webpart, but then when I tried to add it to my site, I get the error saying "List does not exist. The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another use."

    DOCUMENT SET i get an error "An unexpected error has occurred". => If your library don't have document set, can it run well ?
    I tried to add it to my site => did you try with teamsite ?
